The Shoei Multitec is the best flip up motorcycle helmet available in our opinion, and the reasons why are evident. Shoei is a long standing market leader in the creation and innovative ideas of motorcycle helmets worldwide. The multitec is different to most conventional flip up helmets, namely because it includes the 360 degree pivot locking system, which securely fastens the chin protection in to place when the helmet's face shield is lowered. (This makes the helmet extremely safe) The pin on the helmet is made of solid steel, so when the face sheild is closed, the solid metal closure automatically encases the pin, unlike a lot of designs where the pin is merely held in place by an open recess.

The Shoei Multitec's shell is a brand new design with an integral spoiler. The helmet is manufactured in AIM, with two shell sizes available. Shoei has compromised slightly with the Multitec to get the perfect locking system on the helmet it was important not to manufacture as many shell sizes as normal. The Multitec helmet like most shoei helmets is very lightweight for the material it is constructed in. (medium weighs 1.5g) The overall shape of this flip up helmet is well thought out too, with a 360 degree pivot locking system operated easily with one hand the chin guard fits flush with the rest of the helmet.

Shoei's Multitec has the fitted EPS liner system with two densities, as well as a fixed centre pad which is washable and detachable and washable cheek pads with groove for spectacles. The inner lining has specific larger recesses close to the riders ears. The Multitec comes with both free Whisper Strip Kit (a chin curtain for added warmth) and a mellow smoke visor for those brighter days.

Shoei's visor system for the Multitec motorcycle helmet is a mist retardant CX-1V with pinlock fitted, this is great for darker and colder days where riding is necessary. Shoei include a array of ventilation points, with inlet vents included on the brown and chin, and two outlets included on the neck.
